HL research - our view on this fund

Mark Dampier According to Sanjeev Shah many UK shares look excellent value. He remains confident that the fund's exposure to the financial sector will pay off, and has added to Lloyds Banking Group and Citigroup, but reduced his holding in Royal Bank of Scotland. He believes this is a good time to own good retail and commercial banks, as many have made positive changes to their business models and should benefit from a recovery. He also likes the prospects for media companies and has increased exposure to ITV by taking advantage of recent share price weakness. It has been a challenging period for the fund, but we continue to believe Sanjeev Shah is a talented fund manager with good potential to outperform.
