HL research - our view on this fund
The fund mainly invests in smaller oil companies, which have endured a torrid time recently, but Angelos Damaskos feels they now look hugely undervalued. The fund is positioned to take advantage of any recovery in the sector, and if the oil price remains elevated this will help oil producers generate healthy cash flow and profits. The fund also has some exposure to the corporate bonds of oil companies, providing the portfolio with a defensive element.
About the Fund Manager
Angelos Damaskos

Angelos Damaskos is a Greek national who arrived in the UK in 1981 to attend university. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from Sheffield University in 1989. For the next 14 years, he worked with top-rated London investment banks specializing in natural resources financing. Since its inception, the fund has consistently outperformed its benchmark, the FTSE 350 oil and gas index, as well as the crude oil price.
