HL research - our view on this fund

Mark Dampier There has been a slight change in strategy, leading to a marked improvement in relative performance since the start of the year. Bill Mott has taken a defensive stance, focusing on companies with strong balance sheets that sell everyday essentials. This includes pharmaceuticals, telecoms and utilities companies, which should be less reliant on a strong economy.

Bill Mott is one of the best-known UK equity fund managers in the UK market, having spent 30 years at Credit Suisse. He is well known in the market for his top-down thematic investment style and for making major calls about 'inflection points' in the direction of the economy. Bill is a founding member of PSigma Asset Management and has invested his own SIPP into the fund. He has aligned his interests with those of our investors and focuses entirely on managing the money.
