Alex graduated from Edinburgh University in 1995 with an MA in Economic and Social Geography. Alex has over 12 years of investment experience and began his financial career at Cazenove, where he focussed on European and UK Small Caps. He joined Newton in February 1999 as an International Research Analyst and Fund Manager rising to become Head of Global Equities responsible for a range of retail and segregated global pension funds based on Global indicies. He was the Fund Manager for the Newton Global Opportunities prioir to joining River and Mercantile Asset Management LLP as Head of Global Equities in June 2009.
