It looks like we could be in for a busy week on pensions next week.

We’re expecting the DWP to publish the outcome of its auto-enrolment review, probably on Monday 4th.

Then on Tuesday 5th we are expecting not one but two chunky pension reports:

The Pension Protection Fund will be publishing the 2017 edition of its Purple Book, a comprehensive review of the state of health of the UK’s final salary schemes, including:

  • Deficits
  • Investment performance
  • Membership stats (will we see evidence of increased transfer activity as members cash out to take advantage of pension freedom?)
  • Scheme demographics
  • Asset allocation

The IFS in conjunction with the OECD will be publishing ‘Pensions at a Glance’ looking at:

  • Longevity
  • Adequacy
  • Pension freedom
  • Investment risk
