  • First time apprenticeships offered in IT and digital marketing
  • Opportunity to earn while they learn
  • More hits to the HL website via mobile devices than through desktops

Hargreaves Lansdown has six joiners to their new apprenticeship scheme.

This is the first time Hargreaves Lansdown has offered apprenticeships in highly skilled and technical areas such as IT and digital marketing. This reflects the shift in the business to digital and mobile - more people now go to our website via mobile devices than through desktops.

The apprenticeship scheme is one segment of our 5 pronged youth training programme:

  • The apprenticeship scheme
  • Graduate scheme
  • Industrial placement scheme
  • Work experience scheme
  • Summer intern scheme

Heather Cooper, Chief People Officer, Hargreaves Lansdown;

“The Hargreaves Lansdown apprenticeship scheme is a key part of our strategy to bring enthusiastic and talented people into the business. It’s very much earn while you learn with clear career progression and real jobs waiting at the end of the 2 year programme.

The apprentices will be equipped with knowledge and skills, and valuable experience of working in one of the most successful financial services companies in the UK.

This is the first time we have offered apprenticeships in highly skilled and technical areas such as IT and digital marketing. This reflects the shift to digital and especially mobile, with more clients now logging onto our website via mobile devices, than desktops.”

George Sommerfield joins the Digital Marketing team from Chew Valley School. In his spare time, he is heavily involved with Bristol's music scene as a DJ and promoter.

George says “I've always worked for myself. Joining Hargreaves Lansdown will allow me to use the skills I have in a team. I learn best by doing things and believe that learning on the job via an apprenticeship will be far more beneficial for me personally, than spending time at university.”

Chloe Andreoletti joins the Client Support team from Henbury Secondary School.

“I joined this apprenticeship scheme because I like the idea of working my way up with hard work and determination. I believe that working with HL would bring me distinguished experience.”
