Stewart Investors - changes in fund management responsibilities

Investments can go down as well as up so there is always a danger that you could get back less than you invest. Nothing here is personalised advice, if unsure you should seek advice.

Stewart Investors have announced a number of fund management changes, anticipated to come into effect by 1 July 2016. They have confirmed there will be no changes to the underlying philosophy or process adopted by the managers, which has been developed over a period of more than 25 years.

The funds will continue to be managed by several highly-experienced and talented portfolio managers and we are encouraged the team will maintain their established investment philosophy and approach. The managers will also continue to share ideas and operate as a close-knit team. We therefore do not expect to see any significant changes to the funds as a result.

Angus Tulloch established the team 27 years ago, while Jonathan Asante is also a long-standing member of the team. While they have handed over some of their management responsibilities, they will remain part of the team and act as a vital resource for the remaining managers.

Investors should note the Asia Pacific, Global Emerging Markets Leaders, and Latin America funds are currently closed to new investment. That said, we continue to hold the Asia and emerging markets team at Stewart Investors in high regard, and we have confidence in their ability to outperform their respective markets over the long term. As such we do not feel any changes need to be made to existing portfolios, providing investors' objectives continue to be met.
