Here we seek to address some frequently asked questions for investors.

  • How can I check the share price?

    Simply access the Share Price Information page.

    If you hold your shares in an HL Account, you can log into your account to check your portfolio valuation.

  • Can I have my dividends paid directly into my bank account?

    If you hold your shares in an HL account, you can elect to have ALL dividends received into your HL account paid into your nominated bank account. Please note that income is only paid once a month.

    To set up your nominated bank account online, you would need to select the 'Account Settings' tab once you have logged in. Then, from the options that you have down the left side of the webpage, select ‘Withdrawals, income and loyalty bonus’. On this page, select ‘Edit nominated bank account’ to amend your details.

    When adding a new nominated bank account we send out an authorisation code to your registered address via first class post. Once you receive this, please follow the instructions to authorise your new bank account. You will not be able to place a withdrawal request until this step has been completed.

    If you have a share certificate, you will need to contact the Registrars via the Shareholder Helpline on 0345 603 7037 or download a form.

  • What do I do if I have lost my share certificate?

    If you hold your shares in an HL account, you will not have a share certificate. Your shares are held safely on your behalf by Hargreaves Lansdown Nominees Limited.

    However, if this is not the case and your certificates have been lost or stolen the Registrar can arrange for a duplicate certificate to be issued. Contact the Registrar on the Shareholder Helpline number 0345 603 7037. The Registrar will need to arrange for you to complete an indemnity covering the company for any loss arising from a dispute over who owns the shares. There may be a charge payable.

  • How can I confirm how many shares I hold?

    If you hold your shares in an HL Account, you can check your shareholding by logging in to your account.

    If you have a share certificate, please contact the Registrars via the Shareholder Helpline on 0345 603 7037.

  • I have changed my address or name - what do I need to do?

    Online: If you have an account with us and you have online access, you can log into your account and amend your address.

    Telephone: Provided you’ve set up your security details you can call us on 0117 980 9954.

    or you can complete and return our Change of Address Form.

    Alternatively, if you hold a share certificate you should write to the Registrar at Equiniti, Aspect House, Spencer Road, Lancing, BN99 6ZL informing them of your change of address. Correspondence should refer to Hargreaves Lansdown PLC and state clearly the registered name of the holding.   • How do I transfer my shares into an ISA or SIPP?

    In order to transfer shares into an ISA or SIPP, the shares need to be sold and repurchased within the ISA or SIPP. This practice is known as 'Bed & ISA' or 'Bed & SIPP'. Please contact our Helpdesk on 0117 900 9000.
