Details (last updated 23 Jun 2022)

GSK plc is splitting off its consumer healthcare business into a new separate company, to be called Haleon plc.

This is called a demerger and if it goes ahead, shareholders at the end of 15 July 2022 will be given 1 new Haleon plc share for every GSK plc share for held. Shareholders will then hold shares in both GSK plc and Haleon plc.

When a company carries out a demerger, it’s normal for the share price to drop to reflect the value of the new shares issued. GSK wants to keep the share price roughly the same before and after the demerger. To do this, GSK will reduce the number of shares every shareholder owns. This won’t make a difference to the overall value of your holding – the total value of your new GSK and Haleon shares added together should be similar to the value of your current holding.

As a shareholder, you can vote for or against these plans. You’ll need to do this by noon on Friday 1 July 2022 so we can pass your vote onto the company before the shareholder meetings.

The London Stock Exchange does not disclose whether a trade is a buy or a sell so this data is estimated based on the trade price received and the LSE-quoted mid-price at the point the trade is placed. It should only be considered an indication and not a recommendation.

Trades priced above the mid-price at the time the trade is placed are labelled as a buy; those priced below the mid-price are sells; and those priced close to the mid-price or declared late are labelled 'N/A'.
