BlackRock Energy and Resources Trust (the Trust) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Trust's investment objectives are to provide total return and income through a combination of current income and long-term capital appreciation. The Trust seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its total assets in equity securities of energy and natural resources companies and equity derivatives with exposure to the energy and natural resources industry. The Trust may invest up to 20% of its total assets in other United States and other non-United States investments. Its investments may include equity and debt securities of companies not engaged in the energy and natural resources industry. The Trust invests in Oil, Gas & Consumable Fuels, Chemicals, Energy Equipment & Services, and Consumer Staples Distribution & Retail industries.
