Fidelity European Trust PLC is a United Kingdom-based investment trust. The Company’s objective is to achieve long-term growth in both capital and income by predominantly investing in equities (and their related securities) of continental European companies. It is focused on investing approximately 80 % of its gross assets in companies from countries, which are included in the Benchmark Index (the FTSE World Europe ex UK Index). It may invest upto 20 % of gross assets in stocks of European countries, which are not included in the Company’s Benchmark Index. It invests in various sectors, such as financials, industrials, healthcare, consumer discretionary, technology, consumer staples, basic materials and utilities, and others. It also invests in other transferable securities, investment companies, money market instruments, cash and deposits. Its investment manager is FIL Investments International. FIL Investment Services (UK) Limited serves as the alternative investment fund manager.
