Our view on the sector

The Mixed and Flexible Investment sectors could be the answer for investors who want to leave the asset allocation decisions to an expert. Funds in these sectors invest a certain amount of their portfolio in shares, from 0% to 35% in the case of the Mixed Investment 0-35% Shares Sector, 20% to 60% for the Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares Sector, 40% to 85% for the Mixed Investment 40-85% Shares Sector, and 0% to 100% for the Flexible Investment Sector. Colin is the CIO and Head of Active Asset Allocation within our Multi Asset Solutions team. In this role, he leads the Multi Asset Solution's team's strategists, economists and analysts, and has overall responsibility for our active asset allocation views. He also oversees a dedicated group of portfolio managers responsible for managing mutual funds and dedicated multi-asset portfolios and is the lead portfolio manager of our Diversified Growth Fund (Parvest Flexible Multi-Asset). He joined BNP Paribas Investment Partners in March 2014 and is based in London. Previously, Colin was co-head of the Global Multi-Asset Strategies team at BlackRock (formerly Merrill Lynch Investment Managers), where he spent over 16 years managing assets on behalf of retail and institutional clients, helping to successfully grow the business into a leading multi-asset franchise. Colin has a strong macroeconomic background and a proven track record in TAA across a number of different areas, including GTAA, absolute return and balanced funds. Prior to his time at BlackRock, Colin worked as an actuarial consultant for Mercer. He has 23 years of professional experience, including 17 years in asset allocation. Colin holds a BSc in management and mathematics from Brunel University in the UK. He is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Colin has been a strategist and portfolio manager in our Multi Asset Solutions team since 2014. In this position, he supports the Head of Active Asset Allocation in overseeing overall asset allocation positioning and is also responsible for generating currency views. He is based in London. Prior to joining BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Colin worked as a currency portfolio manager at C-View Ltd and before that, as a director of fixed interest and currency and as the head of absolute return/high alpha at Baring Asset Management. He also worked for Norwich Union Invest Management Ltd as an investment director and as the head of international fixed income. He has also held investment positions at Natwest/Gartmore Investment Management, WorldInvest Ltd. and Citibank Investment Management. He has 34 years of investment experience. Colin has a bachelor's degree in economics and a master of philosophy degree from the University of Liverpool in the UK.

Adam Gage has been a portfolio manager in our Multi Asset Solutions team since 2012. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of our diversified growth fund and absolute return strategies. He is based in London. Previously, Adam spent six years as an FX trader and portfolio manager in the currency team at BNP Paribas Investment Partners. He joined us from UBS Global Asset Management, where he spent two years in FX trading and currency management. He began his career in 2001 where he spent a year in global custody support at Deutsche Bank. Adam has 14 years of investment experience. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Kent in the UK and holds the UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Adrian has been working in our Multi Asset Solutions team since 2005. In his current role as Head of UK Portfolio Management (which he has held since 2014) he oversees the management of dedicated mandates for UK clients as well as a number of mutual funds including the team's Diversified Growth Fund. Prior to his current role, he spent nine years as a portfolio manager within the Multi Asset Solutions (within BNP Paribas Investment Partners and at predecessor firms ABN AMRO Asset Management and Fortis Investments). He is based in London. Adrian joined ABN AMRO Asset Management in 1998 as head of administration. Previously, he was a portfolio administrator at Deutsche Bank and before that was at Barclays Global Investors, where he began his career. He has 23 years of investment experience. Adrian holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a CFA Charterholder.
