How to set up a nominated bank account

A nominated bank account is the account your money will move to when you withdraw it. Here’s how to set one up.  

Before you start

  • When you add or change your nominated bank account, we will validate the bank account is in your name electronically.
  • The bank account must be held in the same name as your HL account.
  • If you’ve recently updated your address, you will not be able to change your nominated bank account for 21 days.
  • Nominated bank accounts are not used for your SIPP account.
  • Your nominated bank account can only be a UK bank account. If you do not have one, please contact us.

How to set up a nominated bank account on the website

  1. Log in online to see your accounts. 
  2. Select ‘Account settings’ from the tab list.   
  3. Select ‘Withdrawals, income and loyalty bonus’.  
  4. Select to ‘Add Bank Account’.
  5. Enter the details of the bank account you want to add, including whether this is a personal or business bank account.
  6. Select to ‘Verify Bank Account’.
  7. If the bank account is in your name, select ‘Yes, add this bank account’.
  8. Select ‘Finish’.

What happens next

You will be able to withdraw money from your ISA or Fund and Share Account once you’ve confirmed your details.
