Keep your money earning interest

Important information - Active Savings helps you make your own decisions and is not personal advice. Inflation reduces the future spending power of money.

Set up a default savings product

You’re always in control of your money with Active Savings.

Any time a fixed term savings product ends, your money moves into the cash hub, while you decide what to do with it. But you won’t earn interest in the cash hub.

If you’re not sure which savings product to choose next, you could set your account to automatically move your money into a default savings product, whilst you decide.

Set your account to automatically move your money

Choosing a default savings product is easy, and once set up we'll automatically move your money there if it's been in the cash hub for five working days.

  • You can choose from an easy access or a limited access product, when available.
  • If you don’t have one of these products you can usually open one with £1, and then set it as your default savings product. If you already have one, you can use it as your default savings product.

Afterwards, you can move your money out of your default savings product whenever you're ready. It'll usually take one working day to move.
