How to add money to a Junior Stocks and Shares ISA

Adding money to your Junior ISA is quickest online. Here's how you can do it.

On this page

Before you start

  • Your child’s money is not usually accessible until they’re 18, at which point they will take control of the account. Make sure you are comfortable with this before you add money.
  • Make sure you have enough Junior ISA allowance left in the current tax year before you add money to the account.
  • Only the parent or guardian associated with the junior account (known as the 'registered contact') can trade after money has been added.
  • If you would like to add a regular amount of money each month, you can set up a Direct Debit.

  1. Log in online to see your accounts.
  2. From the list of actions, select ‘Top up’ next to the Junior ISA account.
  3. Read the Key Features before going any further.

  5. Enter the 16-digit number across the middle of your debit card.
  6. Enter your card’s expiry date in the format MM/YY.
