Details (last updated 18 Sep 2018)

Unilever’s currently run as two companies, Unilever NV based in the Netherlands and Unilever plc in the UK.

To simplify the company, Unilever plans to merge the two together and base the company in the Netherlands.

The plans need to be approved by shareholders at a meeting on 26 October 2018. If approved, the Unilever plc shares held on your account will be replaced with the same number of Unilever NV shares.

Unilever NV shares will be listed on the London Stock Exchange and you’ll be able to buy and sell them in the same way as you can your Unilever plc shares today. You’ll also still get your dividends in sterling.

You don’t have to do anything. But if you want to vote for or against the company’s plans you can. We must receive your vote by noon Tuesday 23 October 2018.

Full details of this event will be sent to Qualifying Hargreaves Lansdown clients by either post or secure message. Please note that any instruction you give must be based on the full details provided in the letter and not on the summary information outlined above.
