What we mean by money worries

Money worries can be sudden and unexpected or develop over time. They could take a variety of forms, but if you're not sure if your situation fits, here are a few examples:

  • job loss
  • debt concerns
  • low or unstable income
  • unexpected change to income
  • low or no savings
  • changes in benefits
  • relationship breakdown
  • bankruptcy

How we can help

If you find that your situation is affecting how you manage your account, there is a range of support we can offer. For example:

  • options to pause or reduce any direct debits
  • help to temporarily reduce or cancel pension contributions
  • break requests for fixed term savings products

Depending on your situation, there may also be tools we can recommend to help you manage your account. If you think there's another way we can support you, please let us know.

What to expect when you tell us about your needs

  • The information is kept on your client record and is confidential. It cannot be seen by anyone other than approved HL staff.
  • We won't usually need to, but if you complete the form online and we have questions about your circumstances or believe we might be able to offer you more support, our specialist team may contact you.
