How do I log in?
If you already have an account but have not yet registered for online access, please register here. If you applied for an account online you’ll have set up your Username and security details when applying (please note it can take up to one working day for your online account to become active).
To log in to your account, click 'Log in' in the top corner of the website. Then, enter your Username in the box provided. This will be a combination of letters and numbers.
Next, enter your date of birth in the format ddmmyy. For example, if you were born on 1st January 1970, enter 010170 (do not enter any spaces, commas or other characters).
You’ll need to enter your Online Password and 3 randomly selected digits from your Secure Number. Your Secure Number is a number that you chose when you set up your security details and is 5 digits long.
If you have two-factor authentication on your HL account, there is an extra step every time you login. After you have entered your Online Password and Secure Number, we will also send a 5-digit code to your phone by text message or automated phone call. Enter this code and you'll be logged into your account.
However, we do not need to send you a 5-digit code if you are using the app and you have set up fingerprint or face login. This method gives us two-factor authentication in one secure step. We will send a one-off code to verify your device but after that, we will not need to send you any more codes when you log in using your fingerprint or face.
