(Sharecast News) - Anglesey Mining announced the appointment of Andrew Fulton as chief executive on Tuesday, with effect from 1 June, as the company continues to focus on developing its Parys Mountain project in North Wales.
The AIM-traded mineral exploration and development company said Fulton would join the board as CEO following the previously announced departure of Rob Marsden, who was due to step down at the end of May.
Fulton is a chartered mining engineer and fellow of the Institute of Minerals, Mining & Materials, with more than 30 years' experience developing and managing mineral projects across the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Anglesey said he would focus on team formation and leadership, aligning technical, operational and commercial capabilities with an emphasis on due diligence, turnaround and growth.
Fulton has been co-director of Capacity Minerals, a mineral asset development company with interests in Egypt and Jordan, since 2025, and is the founder and principal director of Gatesbridge, a company focused on solving complex mining challenges.
His previous roles included operations manager and later vice-president at ICL's Boulby Polyhalite Mine in north-east England, director of deep mining at UK Coal, and a 15-year career at Anglo American in leadership roles, including regional general manager.
He is also a past president of the Mining Association of the United Kingdom.
Executive chairman Jim Williams thanked Marsden for his service and said Fulton would lead the exploration and development of Anglesey's wholly-owned Parys Mountain copper, zinc, lead, silver and gold project.
"Andrew brings demonstrable experience as a mining engineer, a strategist and an accomplished executive operator," Williams said.
Fulton said he saw potential to unlock value from Parys Mountain.
"I believe this underdeveloped project has significant upside potential," he said.
"I look forward to working with all stakeholders to enhance the company's growth story."
At 1049 BST, shares in Anglesey Mining were up 1.61% at 4.17p.
