(Sharecast News) - Seeing Machines announced on Monday that it has secured two new automotive programme awards with separate Japanese car manufacturers, expanding its presence in the in-cabin sensing market and strengthening its automotive pipeline.
The AIM-traded transport safety technology company said it will provide its Driver and Occupant Monitoring System software through existing European and Japanese Tier 1 supplier partners across multiple vehicle platforms scheduled to enter production from 2028.
The programmes cover both single and dual-camera architectures, including steering column-mounted and overhead console installations.
Seeing Machines said the contracts are expected to generate an estimated initial lifetime value of around $11m and reflect growing demand from Japanese manufacturers for advanced in-cabin sensing technologies to support semi-automated driving systems and evolving safety requirements.
"We are delighted to secure these new programs with Japanese automotive manufacturers, further strengthening our position as a global leader in driver and occupant monitoring technology," said chief executive Paul McGlone.
He added that the awards validated the company's long-term investment in Japan and were expected to support future organic growth opportunities as vehicle platforms, model variants and geographic deployment expand.
"With production expected to commence from 2028, these programs further strengthen our automotive pipeline and support our long-term market share ambitions."
At 1023 BST, shares in Seeing Machines were up 5.95% at 4.4p.
