(Sharecast News) - Low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Tuesday that it had seen a "very encouraging" increase in passenger numbers during May, particularly given the timing of Easter the month before.
Wizz Air said it had carried 5.7m passengers in May, a 10.3% increase year-on-year, while seat capacity grew 10%, resulting in a load factor of 91.2%, up 0.2 percentage points on last year's load factor of 91.0%.
The London-listed group also highlighted that it continues to be one of the lowest-emission airlines, reporting a further decline in CO2 emissions per RPK in May, down 3.4% year-on-year at 51.1 grams. This also marked a month-on-month improvement of 40 basis points.
Wizz Air will release its FY25 report on Thursday, 5 June.
As of 0805 BST, Wizz Air shares were up 1.38% at 1,617.0p.
