(Sharecast News) - Concurrent Technologies announced the appointment of Emma Ciechan as its chief financial officer and executive director on Monday, effective from 5 October, succeeding Kim Garrod, who announced her retirement in April.

Ciechan joins from packaging group DS Smith, where she held a number of senior finance roles over a decade, most recently as finance director for its paper, recycling, capital expenditure and paper sourcing divisions.

The AIM-traded company said Ciechan brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic finance, governance, capital allocation and corporate transactions across international manufacturing and media businesses.

Garrod would remain with Concurrent until the end of November to ensure an orderly handover.

At 1403 BST, shares in Concurrent Technologies were up 2.1% at 256.26p.
