(Sharecast News) - ITM Power announced on Wednesday that it has signed a letter of intent with DB Systemtechnik to form an innovation and research partnership focused on green energy solutions for transport and critical infrastructure.
The AIM-traded firm said the agreement builds on its March 2025 collaboration with Deutsche Bahn and will explore the use of green hydrogen to help decarbonise rail transport, related bus and truck fleets, and railway infrastructure.
As a first step, ITM and DB Systemtechnik plan to carry out a front-end engineering design study to assess the technical configuration, site integration, operational requirements and commercial framework for potential deployment of ITM's electrolyser technology at Deutsche Bahn sites.
Chief executive Dennis Schulz said the planned study marked "an important progression" in ITM's relationship with Deutsche Bahn and underlined the potential role of green hydrogen in decarbonising critical transport infrastructure.
At 1115 BST, shares in ITM Power were down 3.4% at 122p.
