(Sharecast News) - Just Eat Takeaway.com said on Tuesday that chief executive officer Jitse Groen will step down with effect from 1 January 2026, 25 years after founding the company.

He will be succeeded by Roberto Gandolfo, who is currently chair of the Just Eat Supervisory Board and head of Prosus Europe.

Just Eat was recently bought by South Africa's Prosus in a 3.6bn deal.

The company said Gandolfo is a senior executive and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in technology and platform businesses. He joined Prosus in 2025 after more than a decade at iFood, where he served as CEO of the Marketplace business.

Under his leadership, the platform scaled from 1 million to 120 million profitable monthly orders, reached more than 60m annual customers, and expanded to a network of 400,000 merchant partners and 400,000 couriers.

Jitse Groen said: "After a quarter century as founder and CEO of Just Eat Takeaway.com, I am leaving the company today.

"I am immensely proud of what our team has built, and I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey."
