(Sharecast News) - PostNL said on Monday that it would deliver a jump in revenues and earnings this year, despite difficult market conditions.

Publishing full-year numbers, the Dutch postal operator said 2025 revenues had ticked up to 3.32bn from 3.25bn, while normalised earnings before interest and tax were flat at 53m. Consensus had been for normalised EBIT closer to 49m.

Revenues at its parcels division rose 3.2% in the last three months of the year. Mail volumes were flat, with the underlying trend of declining volumes temporarily offset by a large, non-recurring election mailings from government and from pension funds.

Mail volumes worldwide are in sustained, structural decline, as both consumers and businesses post fewer letters.

Pim Berendsen, chief executive, acknowledged that the tricky mail market dynamics in the Netherlands had not changed in 2025, "with ongoing structural volume decline and high costs, mainly labour-related".

Looking ahead, however, and he struck a more upbeat note.

"2026 will be fully dedicated to the execution of our new strategy and we expect to reach the inflection point in the trajectory towards delivering on our breakthrough 2028 ambition."

PostNL is forecasting normalised EBIT of between 40m and 70m for the current year, free cash outflow of between 30m and breakeven, and revenue growth of between 5% and 7%.

Longer term, its 2028 targets including revenues topping 4bn and EBIT of more than 175m.

As at 1000 GMT, the Amsterdam-listed stock was up 1%.
