(Sharecast News) - Empire Metals said on Monday that drilling at the Thomas prospect within its Pitfield project in Western Australia had confirmed a large, continuous high-grade titanium zone and delivered the highest TiO2 grades reported by the company to date.
The AIM-traded explorer said 178 holes were completed for 9,816 metres at Thomas, confirming a high-grade weathered central core extending over about 6.25 square kilometres to an average depth of 47 metres.
Results included 51 metres at 8.79% TiO2 from surface and 50 metres at 8.29% TiO2 from surface, with a peak two-metre intercept grading 21.44% TiO2.
Managing director Shaun Bunn said the campaign had "significantly improved" the company's understanding of the scale, continuity and grades at Thomas.
Empire said the results would support a significant mineral resource estimate upgrade targeted for the third quarter of 2026 and provide the basis for future mine planning and engineering design studies.
At 0929 BST, shares in Empire Metals were up 6.64% at 37.75p.
