(Sharecast News) - Oriole Resources said on Wednesday that step-out drilling had confirmed further gold mineralisation at the MB01-S deposit at its 50%-owned Mbe project in Cameroon, supporting the potential for an increase in the current resource estimate.
Results from holes MBDD045 to MBDD047 returned 34 mineralised intersections, including 6.00 metres at 2.41 grams per tonne gold from 84.60 metres in MBDD045, including 1.00 metre at 13.00 grams per tonne, and 3.00 metres at 4.16 grams per tonne from 123.30 metres in MBDD047, including 1.00 metre at 12.00 grams per tonne.
Chief executive Martin Rosser said the results supported a westward and southward extension of MB01-S, where the current JORC resource stands at 870,000 ounces of gold.
Results from the final two holes are awaited, with an updated mineral resource estimate expected in early Q3.
At 1027 BST, shares in Oriole Resources were up 0.81% at 0.37p.
