(Sharecast News) - Thruvision Group announced on Thursday that it has secured multiple contracts to deploy its walk-through people screening technology across UK custodial facilities, with combined awards worth approximately 0.5m.
The AIM-traded security technology provider said the contracts, awarded independently by individual institutions under separate procurement decisions, provide for delivery of its 8108 SpotCHECK systems by 31 March.
Each installation included a five-year contracted support and maintenance agreement, enhancing recurring revenue visibility and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
The company said the deployments were designed to improve safeguarding outcomes in tightly regulated custodial environments by enabling fast, non-intrusive detection of concealed items.
It said the contactless screening technology reduced the need for physical searches, aiming to improve contraband interception rates while enhancing safety for staff and detainees.
While modest individually, the company said the awards represented further strategic progress in Thruvision's expansion within the UK public sector and custodial markets, where screening solutions must balance security, operational efficiency and the needs of vulnerable populations.
"These contract awards reflect the growing recognition of Thruvision's technology across UK custodial settings and the clear operational value it delivers," said chief executive Victoria Balchin.
"The fact that institutions are selecting our solutions independently, on a site-by-site basis, demonstrates genuine demand pull and increasing confidence in our capability.
"Custodial environments require solutions that balance security, safeguarding and operational efficiency.
"Our contactless screening technology is well aligned with those needs, and we believe today's announcement represents further progress in establishing Thruvision as a trusted partner across the UK public sector."
At 1256 GMT, shares in Thruvision were up 14.29% at 1p.
