(Sharecast News) - Sports nutrition and wellness brand Applied Nutrition lifted its outlook for FY27 on Wednesday as it said revenue and profit for the year to the end of July 2026 had surpassed expectations.
The company said that since its update at the start of June, trading had remained strong, with sustained demand across markets and channels.
FY26 adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation are expected to have risen 40% year-on-year to around £43.3m, while revenue is up 50% to £160m. This is ahead of market expectations for adjusted EBITDA of £42m and revenue of £148.4m.
Building on the "strong momentum" achieved in FY26, it now expects total adjusted EBITDA for FY27 to rise around 13% on the year to £49m, while revenue is expected to increase to about £205m. Both are ahead of current consensus market expectations of £47.7m and £186.2m, respectively.
However, the company also cautioned that FY27 EBITDA margin is expected to decrease "slightly" from FY26 levels. "This reflects an increased revenue contribution from the US, together with significantly higher whey protein costs and a greater proportion of sales from whey-based products, partly following the very successful relaunch of Critical Whey in FY26," it said.
At 0930 BST, the shares were down 1.6% at 316.50p, having surged to as high as 350p earlier in the morning.
