(Sharecast News) - Software and security firm Bytes Technology Group said on Wednesday that Gavin Rochussen has been appointed as an independent nonexecutive director and chairdesignate, with effect from 10 July.
Rochussen will succeed Patrick De Smedt, who plans to step down as chair by 30 September after leading the board since Bytes Technology's 2020 listing.
Bytes said Rochussen brings more than 30 years' leadership experience, including as chief executive of Polar Capital, where he oversaw disciplined growth, strategic realignment and international expansion. He previously served as chief executive of JO Hambro Capital Management and group CEO of Fleming Family & Partners.
On appointment, Rochussen will join the FTSE 250-listed firm's nomination, remuneration and ESG committees, and will become chair of the nomination committee once De Smedt retires.
Senior independent director Erika Schraner said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to Patrick for his leadership and dedication over the past six years, during which time he has made a significant contribution to the company."
As of 0815 BST, Bytes shares were up 0.69% at 380.60p.
