(Sharecast News) - Unitree Robotics' stock market debut in Shanghai went off with a bang on Wednesday, with shares in the robot manufacturer soaring more than 460%, valuing the company at nearly $70bn.

The company, known for its humanoid robots and industrial machines designed for dangerous tasks or lifting heavy loads, saw its share price jump as much as 600% before settling at 845 yuan, compared with its listing price of CNY150.80.

That equated to a market capitalisation of CNY445bn ($66bn).

Listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the IPO raised CNY6.1bn for Unitree, with the company offering around 10% of the company to new investors.

Unitree is one of China's leading humanoid robot manufacturers, and reported revenues of CNY1.699bn ($250m) in 2025, with net profits of CNY278m.

Founded in 2016, the company is one of the few Chinese humanoid robotics makers to turn a profit, shipping over 5,500 humanoid robots to global customers last year.

Dan Coatsworth, head of markets at AJ Bell, said the company "made a splash" with its public debut.

"Unitree is shipping an increasing number of humanoid robots, with more established companies like Amazon, Tesla and BYD nursing their own ambitions in this space," he said.

"Robotics is one of just several pulse points of 21st century innovation where Chinese companies' ability to deliver technology at a lower cost is providing a competitive threat to its Western counterparts."
