(Sharecast News) - Facebook parent company Meta Platforms said it had launched a $95bn equity raise to help fund its heavy investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure, marking one of the largest stock offerings ever attempted by a US tech group.
The plan includes $35bn of underwritten new equity and a further $60bn via an atthemarket programme. Meta said the fundraising would support its expanding AI strategy, which it described as creating "significant opportunities" across its core business and new product areas.
Meta said its AI spending was already delivering benefits through higher engagement, better ad performance and stronger monetisation, while also opening avenues in personal superintelligence, consumer and enterprise agents, and AIenabled hardware.
Meta expects capital expenditure to come in between $135bn and $145bn in 2026.
As of 1545 BST, Meta shares were up 0.38% at $645.08 each.
