(Sharecast News) - Industrial and energy firm Metlen Energy said on Monday that it has signed a binding longterm LNG supply agreement with Shell Global LNG, expanding on the memorandum of understanding the two companies reached in February 2026.

Under the deal, Shell will supply Metlen with six LNG cargoes a year - around 600m cubic metres per annum - for five years starting in 2027. The cargoes will be sourced mainly from Shell's US LNG portfolio and delivered for use in Greece or other European markets via the Vertical Gas Corridor.

Metlen said the agreement deepens its partnership with Shell by combining Shell's global LNG portfolio and trading capabilities with Metlen's established presence in southeast Europe. It added that the deal strengthens its longterm supply position, diversifies its portfolio and enhances commercial flexibility across European energy markets.

The FTSE 100-listed company said the arrangement also supports Greece's development as a regional energy hub and provides followon supply for European customers as demand for LNG continues to evolve.

As of 1040 GMT, Metlen shares were up 0.54% at ¬48.20 each.
