(Sharecast News) - NCC Group announced the appointment of Guy Ellis as chief executive on Tuesday, as the cybersecurity specialist said full-year adjusted earnings were expected to exceed market expectations.
Ellis, previously chief financial officer, succeeded Mike Maddison with immediate effect, following the group's transformation into a pure-play cybersecurity business after the disposal of Escode in May.
The company said revenue for the year ended 30 September was expected to be in line with market expectations, while adjusted EBITDA would be ahead of forecasts.
Cybersecurity revenue was expected to rise 3.7% on a constant currency basis to around £235m, while gross margin increased 1.8 percentage points to a record 38.4%.
Adjusted EBITDA for the cybersecurity business was expected to reach £16.3m, representing a margin of 6.9%, while year-end net cash was forecast at approximately £53m.
NCC said its cost reduction and efficiency programme remained on track, while its outlook and financial expectations for the 2027 financial year were unchanged.
The group completed a £170m tender offer in August, following an earlier £40m share buyback, and had executed 35% of its latest £15m repurchase programme by year-end.
Chair Chris Stone said the leadership change followed the completion of NCC's planned transformation, with Ellis well placed to lead its next phase of growth. Andy Beaver, currently group financial director, will become interim chief financial officer.
NCC shares were down 2.0% at 171p by 0938 BST.
