(Sharecast News) - Oxford Biomedica announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to provide process development and AAV GMP manufacturing services to Plowshare Therapies, supporting the biotechnology company's gene therapy programme for rare genetic diseases.

The FTSE 250 firm said the partnership will use OXB's FDA-approved commercial-scale viral vector manufacturing facility in Durham, North Carolina, and could expand to additional programmes and later-stage manufacturing as Plowshare's pipeline progresses.

It said the agreement highlights continued momentum in OXB's AAV business and the growing importance of its expanded US manufacturing footprint following the acquisition of the Durham facility in October 2025.

OXB said the site has attracted a significant number of new clients, reinforcing demand for its end-to-end viral vector development and manufacturing capabilities.

At 0946 BST, shares in Oxford Biomedica were down 0.95% at 636.87p.
