(Sharecast News) - Renishaw will publish full-year results on Wednesday, while Ceres Power, Judges Scientific and Kooth will release half-year numbers.
Full-year results will also be published by JD Sports Fashion, which announced on Monday that it was breaking into the Mexican market after striking a deal with Grupo Axo. The multi-brand retail distributor will operate more than 140 JD stores and e-commerce in the country under the franchise partnership, which is due to commence in 2027. No financial terms were disclosed.
Yanmei Tang, AVP at Third Bridge, said: "UK like for like growth is likely to remain flat to low single digit as the market becomes increasingly saturated. Larger flagship stores could help JD Sports strengthen brand engagement and improve productivity, but the company will need to avoid taking sales away from its existing local stores.
"JD Sports has historically relied heavily on Nike to drive customer traffic and excitement, but Nike's recovery is taking longer than expected. The company is therefore trying to reduce its dependence on the brand by building stronger relationships with other brands.
"The digital marketplace offers JD Sports a way to broaden its product range without taking on additional inventory risk. However, there is a risk that customers use the platform to discover products before buying directly from the brand, where they may find lower prices or a wider range.
"Another challenge is the amount of discounted stock being pushed into wholesale channels as brands work through excess inventory. If JD Sports takes on too much discounted product, it could put pressure on margins and weaken its positioning as a mid to upper market retailer."
In the US, quarterly results from packaged foods company General Mills will be in focus.
On the macro front, Danske Bank said preliminary September PMIs for most major economies on Wednesday will be the key data releases this week.
"The euro area will be especially interesting, as strong growth over the summer has made it easier for the ECB to tighten monetary policy, with focus on whether momentum increases further, especially in manufacturing," it said.
