(Sharecast News) - Wall Street trading got off to a mixed start on Monday as market participants looked ahead to key macro data and a fresh batch of corporate earnings scheduled for later in the week.

As of 1500 GMT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.37% at 49,931.33, while the S&P 500 shed 0.06% to 6,927.91 and the Nasdaq Composite came out of the gate 0.06% firmer at 23,045.67.

The Dow opened 184.34 points lower on Friday, knocking the blue chip index back below the 50,000 mark.

Major indices rebounded from a sharp selloff on Friday, driven by heavy losses across software names and a steep drop in bitcoin as investors shifted into riskoff mode.

However, the Dow was slightly lower at the open, even as bitcoin clawed back some ground ground, sitting just above $69,200 as of 1500 GMT, after briefly sinking below $61,000 the night before.

While no market-moving data points will be published on Monday, investors will tune in to speeches from Christopher Waller, Stephen Miran and Raphael Bostic throughout the course of the day.

Investors will then turn their attention January's delayed jobs report on Wednesday, which was pushed back from last week due to the partial US government shutdown. The release follows a softerthanexpected ADP print, which showed private payrolls rising by just 22,000 in January. Economists expect the official report to show a gain of around 55,000 jobs.

January's CPI reading, also delayed by the shutdown, will follow on Friday, with consensus pointing to a 2.5% annual rate.

No major corporate earnings were scheduled for release on Monday, but traders will await quarterly figures from noth CocaCola and Ford on Tuesday.
