The UK's no. 1 investment and savings platform - now even better value

We're helping 2 million clients build wealth, with confidence

We've won more than 200 awards for providing HL clients with the best products, best support and best information.

Just one of the reasons over 2mn people trust the UK's #1 investment and savings platform with their wealth

Free to open and transfer

We believe saving and investing is for everyone. That's why it's free to open and close any account, and we don't charge to transfer money to or from other providers.

Investment pricing

All investment platforms charge fees, whether transparent ones (like percentage or fixed costs) or less obvious ones (such as per-trade cuts or admin charges).

What matters most is the value you receive in return.

As a client of Hargreaves Lansdown, you have access to thousands of investment options on our website and award-winning app, expert analysis at your fingertips, and a Bristol-based client support team on hand.

With HL there are two key charges to know about:

Account charges

Account charges are annual charges based on a percentage of the value of your investments. They are billed monthly, and the maximum you pay in a year is 0.35%.

Dealing charges

Dealing charges are what you pay each time you buy or sell an investment. You can deal funds online from just £1.95. For shares, it's never more than £6.95 per online deal.

Some investments have their own charges, set by the fund manager or provider. You’ll find these in the Key Investor Information document for each investment. Extra charges apply for buying overseas shares, and some equities may be affected by government tax or levies.

Understanding what you pay

What you pay vary depending on the type of account – you can view the pricing for each individual account below.
