(Sharecast News) - Richmond Hill Resources said on Monday that it has completed a field reconnaissance and rock sampling programme at its Martello Gold Project in Ontario, collecting 35 rock chip samples across the Sakoose, Maw and Church Lake target areas.

The AIM-traded work confirmed quartz veins and sulphide mineralisation at all three targets, with evidence at Sakoose suggesting multiple quartz vein systems may be present, while all samples have been submitted for gold and multi-element analysis with results expected during the current quarter.

Executive chairman Hamish Harris said the programme had strengthened the company's understanding of its priority exploration targets, particularly at Sakoose where multiple vein systems may exist.

He said the assay results would help refine Richmond Hill's geological model and support the next phase of drill targeting across the project.

At 0833 BST, shares in Richmond Hill Resources were up 2.26% at 1.36p.
