(Sharecast News) - There are no major FTSE 350 corporate releases due on Friday, but Societe Generale's latest results will be in focus.
As far as SocGen is concerned, UBS expects a market focus on updated expectations for FY26. It said this was key given the re-rating of the shares and with consensus expectations for return on tangible equity well above the 9-10% existing target.
Investors will also focus on the pace of buybacks given some uncertainty as to whether SocGen will announce another buyback so soon after the last one.
UBS said it has assumed that management will seek to deliver on past guidance around distribution intentions given the importance of year end set-piece communications, with a 13.1% pro-forma CET1 ratio at FY25.
Attention will also turn to SocGen's capital investment plans and the potential for/risks of M&A, UBS said.
Results are also due from Kone, Orsted, Skanska and Telenor, while on the macroeconomic front, German industrial production and trade data for December will be published at 0700 GMT.
Across the pond, the latest non-farm payrolls report was due for release by the Bureau of Labor Statistics but this has been delayed due to the partial government shutdown. The BLS said earlier in the week that the January jobs report will now be released on Wednesday 11 February.
In the UK, the Halifax house price index for January will be out at 0700 GMT.
