(Sharecast News) - International Workplace Group on Tuesday said founder and current CEO Mark Dixon was shifting position to become executive chair, with head of regions Christian Schmitz moving up to take the top job.

Dixon founded IWG in 1989 with the company now operating in more than 120 countries. He will also act as an adviser to Schmitz.

IWG added that Douglas Sutherland, currently non-executive chair, will become deputy chair.

Schmitz joined IWG last year as chief transformation officer and subsequently became global head of regions. He was previously a partner at McKinsey & Company in San Francisco and a director at KKR Capstone.
