(Sharecast News) - Food packaging business Hilton Food Group said on Tuesday that Mark Clare has been appointed independent nonexecutive chair with effect from 1 July, while Mark Allen, currently executive chair, will step into the role of group chief executive on the same date.
Hilton Food said Clare brings extensive listedcompany experience, having held senior board roles at Wickes, Drax, Grainger, Aggreko, Ricardo, United Utilities, Ladbrokes Coral and BAA, alongside an executive career that included nearly a decade as chief executive of Barratt Developments and senior leadership roles at Centrica.
The FTSE 250-listed firm said Clare's breadth of experience would be "invaluable" as Hilton Food executes its strategic plan and focuses on longterm growth.
Allen said: "Mark brings fantastic public company and commercial experience to our board. He has been successful at the most senior executive and non-executive levels in a distinguished career.
"In the role of group chief executive officer, I will value the broad and deep experience he will be able to bring to bear as chair of the board, especially as we implement our clear plan arising from our strategic review to focus the business on its core capabilities and deliver sustainable long-term growth."
As of 0940 BST, Hilton Food shares were down 1.24% at 517p.
