(Sharecast News) - Supermarket Income REIT said on Friday that it has acquired six grocery assets for £104m, completing the deployment of proceeds from its £100m equity raise in July.
The latest assets include a 74,000 sq ft Sainsbury's supermarket in Macclesfield and an 80,000 sq ft Morrisons store in Leeds, both with 13 years remaining on their leases.
Supermarket Income REIT has also bought a 50,000 sq ft M&S-anchored retail park in Nottinghamshire, which is fully let and includes B&Q, Costa, Greggs and Mountain Warehouse, as well as a 4,000 sq ft Co-op foodstore in Birmingham.
The FTSE 250 real estate investment trust has additionally exchanged contracts to acquire an M&S-anchored scheme in Glasgow and a 67,000 sq ft Sainsbury's grocery distribution centre in Avonmouth. The latter has an unexpired lease term of 14 years.
The company said the acquisitions, together with July's £118m purchase of a portfolio of three supermarkets, had been completed at an average net initial yield of 6.6% and a weighted average unexpired lease term of 10 years.
Chief executive Rob Abraham said: "These acquisitions add six high-quality grocery assets to our portfolio [...]. We are pleased to have delivered this compelling pipeline of acquisitions within two months."
He added that the deals represented further progress in diversifying the portfolio beyond the company's core UK foodstores, adding exposure to grocery distribution and grocery-anchored retail.
Supermarket Income REIT's portfolio was valued at £2.1bn at the end of December 2025.
The stock was down 0.3% at 81.95p by 1004 BST.
