Everyman Media revealed on Friday that interim creative director Charles Dorfman had acquired 227,000 ordinary shares in the AIM-listed cinema operator.
Dorfman, who has been on the board of Everyman for 17 years, purchased the shares on Wednesday at an average price of 35.89 each, for a total value of 81,431.
Following the transaction, Dorfman holds a direct interest in 7.66m ordinary Everyman shares, representing approximately 8.38% of the company's issued share capital.
As of 1500 BST, Everyman Media shares had shot up 21.30% to 41p.
