(Sharecast News) - Private healthcare provider Spire Healthcare said Toscafund has been granted more time to finalise a possible 250pashare cash offer, after the fund completed due diligence and continued to work towards a recommended bid.
Spire said the board requested, and the takeover panel has consented to, an extension of the "put up or shut up" deadline until 3 September. By that date, Toscafund must either announce a firm offer or confirm it does not intend to proceed. The deadline may be extended again with the Panel's consent.
The FTSE 250-listed firm initially received the revised nonbinding proposal from Toscafund, its secondlargest shareholder, in May. It said the approach remained subject to customary preconditions, including confirmatory due diligence and agreement of final transaction documents.
As of 1015 BST, Spire Healthcare shares were down 0.42% at 235p.
