We have taken the decision to remove the FSSA Japan Focus fund from the Wealth Shortlist.
We have been informed by FSSA that the fund has been under strategic review, due to the fact it has fallen in size in recent years. It’s currently £82m, which means it’s no longer deemed to be commercially viable by the business.
FSSA is expected to seek permission from the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) to close the fund. While there are no guarantees, in this instance it’s likely FSSA will receive approval and on this basis the fund could be closed by the end of 2024. In the meantime, manager Sophia Li and the team working with her will continue to manage the fund.
Due to the risk this poses to investors, we have taken the decision to remove the fund from the Wealth Shortlist.
Investors will be informed of further details following the FCA’s decision. It’s expected that following a decision to close the fund, monies will be returned to investors.
