(Sharecast News) - Information systems and technical services provider Journeo said on Wednesday that it has received approximately £1m of purchase orders from a large local authority in the South of England.

Journeo said the orders were for the supply, installation and maintenance of passenger information display infrastructure and associated software services that will support its client in meeting goals set out as part of its Bus Service Improvement Plan.

The AIM-listed group stated the orders also included the supply of interactive totem technology, to be located at strategic decision-points within the transport network, which will provide members of the public access to the latest real-time information on transport departures, local events and points of interest needed to plan their journeys.

Additionally, Journeo said orders were also received for its fully-integrated airport transfer and real-time information systems to be delivered at Leeds Bradford Airport and Dublin Airport.

Chief executive Russ Singleton said: "We are delighted to achieve these latest purchase orders, demonstrating the flexibility and capability of Journeo's technology. Whether the deployments are to encourage members of the public to use local public transport, for commuting, leisure and social activities; or to support highly complex airport operations, where our systems will now collectively support more than 210m passenger journeys a year, our technology is enabling members of the public to move away from personal-use vehicles with confidence and further establishes our position as a provider of intelligent transport systems, at any scale."

As of 1030 BST, Journeo shares were up 2.87% at 383.20p.
