(Sharecast News) - Biofuel technology business Quadrise named Peter Borup as chief executive officer on Monday as it looks to drive commercialisation in its next stage of growth.

Borup, who will take over as CEO on 1 October, has over 30 years' experience in the shipping industry, beginning his career at AP Moller-Maersk, before moving into senior leadership roles at several major cargo shipping operators.

Beyond his leadership roles in shipping, Quadrise said Borup had contributed to maritime technology and innovation, serving on the investment committees of Rainmaking, Motion Ventures and The Shipping Collective, as well as serving on the board of AI start-up Shipster.ai.

Quadrise chairman Andy Morrison said: "We are delighted to have appointed Peter to become CEO of Quadrise. His extensive expertise and relationships in the shipping industry will undoubtedly help us at this pivotal time for the company as we move our technology towards commercialisation. The knowledge and work he also has in the decarbonisation space will also further enable us to progress our technology offering and strategy."
