(Sharecast News) - Science Group reported adjusted operating profit of £11.5m for the first half on Monday, up from £11.3m, while its adjusted operating margin rose to 24.3% from 19.7%.
Adjusted basic earnings per share increased to 20.4p from 19.3p, although core revenue fell to £46.4m from £48.7m and total revenue declined to £47.2m from £57.2m following the managed reduction of low-margin pass-through defence work.
The AIM-traded group generated £10.7m of operating cash and ended June with £67.9m of cash and net funds of £56.8m after returning £26.3m to shareholders over the past year.
It expects sequential growth in the second half, led by its Services division, and said its 2026 share buyback programme was likely to exceed £20m.
At 1124 BST, shares in Science Group were up 0.51% at 590p.
