(Sharecast News) - Sunda Energy launched a public consultation process for the environmental impact statement and environmental management plan relating to the planned drilling of the Chuditch-2 appraisal well offshore Timor-Leste on Friday.

The AIM-traded firm said the documents had been submitted by its subsidiary, SundaGas Banda Unipessoal, to the national petroleum regulator, Autoridade Nacional do Petróleo.

It said the draft submissions incorporated findings from the environmental baseline survey conducted earlier in the year, which were now available for public review.

The consultation period would run for 14 days, in line with local regulatory requirements, after which final versions of the documents would be submitted for regulatory approval.

Sunda said the Chuditch-2 well is part of the TL-SO-19-16 production sharing contract.

Further updates on the drilling schedule and operational preparations were expected in due course.

At 1140 BST, shares in Sunda Energy were up 1.57% at 0.06p.
